Number of open banking users in the UK 2019-2023
In November 2023, the number of active open banking users in the United Kingdom reached the milestone of eight million users. Roughly two years before that, in January 2022, the number of open banking users stood at five million. Open banking allows third-party financial services providers to access consumer banking, transactions, and other financial data from banks and non-bank financial institutions. Open banking provides this data through the use of application programming interfaces (APIs).
