The most considerable growth in fleet size was recorded in 2011 when the EU fleet increased by 8.5 percent year-on-year. In 2020, the size of the EU fleet increased by 2.8 percent compared with the previous year.
The EU shipping industry includes the United Kingdom and Norway.
