The Warner Bros. Discovery company generated 5.27 billion U.S. dollars in revenue from its networks segment in the second quarter of 2024, while the studios division brought in 2.45 billion dollars in revenue at that time. Warner Bros. Discovery came to be in April 2022, thanks to the merger of Discovery Inc. with WarnerMedia.

The media company divides its operations into three segments. The networks division focuses on national and international television operations. The studios segment is responsible for the production and distribution of films for theaters as well as production and licensing of television programs. The last segment, direct-to-consumer provides premium pay TV and streaming services. In 2023 the networks segment accounted for the largest share of Warner Bros Discovery’s revenue. All in all, the company’s distribution and advertising are the two biggest sources of revenue, accounting for more than 70 percent of its revenue.

The Studios segment of the Warner Bros Discovery company offers movie and TV programming production and distribution. The most recent releases associated with the studio division were ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’, ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’, ‘Black Adam’, and ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’, to name just a few. During the 2024 Academy Awards the company ranked fifth in terms of Oscar nominations for their productions. In 2023, Warner Bros’ box office revenue in the U.S and Canada reached 1.4 billion dollars. Still, after the merger and restructuring, the studio has a long way to go to reach the pre-pandemic revenue levels not to mention surpassing the record-high of 2.1 billion from 2009.
