As of 2020, Tanzania's chicken stock slightly fell to nearly 38 million heads. In the previous year, 38.4 million chickens were kept for breeding or raised either for meat or egg production. In general, the Tanzanian poultry stock has increased since 2010. That year, there were 33.5 million chickens in the country.
