Voting rate at the House of Councillors elections Japan 1947-2022
The voting rate was 52.05 percent at the latest Japanese House of Councillors regular election in 2022, the third-lowest in history since the inauguration of the house in 1947. The House of Councillors is the upper house of the Japanese parliament. Once elected, members have six years of terms of service. Half of the members of the house are replaced in a regular election conducted once in three years.
