Share of e-commerce users in Portugal 2023, by job status
Students in Portugal had the highest share of e-commerce users in 2023, compared to other employment statuses and the national average e-commerce penetration rate. More than 61 percent of the students surveyed said they had purchased something online in the previous three months. Among employed people, this share stood at around 53 percent. In general, younger segments of the Portuguese population show higher percentages of e-commerce usage.
