In the 2021 energy transition index (ETI), Morocco registered a score of 64.9 under the system performance sub-index which assesses the country's ability to support economic development and growth, its universal access to secure and reliable energy supply, and its environmental sustainability across the energy value chain. Moreover, the North African country obtained 48.7 points in terms of its energy transition readiness. Overall, Morocco ranked 4th in the 2021 ETI among African countries. The indicator measures the energy system performance of countries and their readiness for energy transition on a scale of 0-100.
