In 2023, the Kanto region of Japan recorded about 8.6 million overnight stays by foreign travelers at its lodging facilities. Kanto was the most well visited region in 2022 by inbound travelers. The figures for all areas have been mostly increasing in the past decade, but sharply declined with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic.
