Average cost-to-income ratio for banks in Angola 2013-2020
Banks in Angola had on average a cost-to-income ratio of 102 percent in 2020. The indicator increased from 38 percent in 2019, pointing out deterioration in the profitability of Angolan banks. This result was, however, strongly influenced by the net results of Banco de Poupanca e Crédito (BPC). In 2020, the state-owned institution recorded a massive loss of over 800 million U.S. dollars, considered the highest in the history of Angolan banking.
