Latin America: net profit of the airline industry 2019-2021
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Latin American airlines could record a combined net loss of five billion U.S. dollars in 2020, more than five times the loss reported in the previous year. The recovery for this industry is not expected to be fully seen in 2021, when the region's air carriers are reckoned to record another significant loss. Meanwhile, the global airline industry's profits were forecast to plummet by more than 100 billion dollars in 2020.
