Share of renewables in primary energy supply Japan FY 2013-2022
In the fiscal year 2022, the share of renewable energy in the primary energy supply reached approximately 11 percent. Figures increased continuously throughout the past decade. The Japanese government currently aims to increase renewable and nuclear energy share to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and be less dependent on fossil fuel imports.
