16,555 new moped registrations were recorded in Spain in 2023, which marked a decrease from the 2022 figure of 17,464 — a reduction of around 5.2 percent. Under EU rules, e-bikes with self-sustained speeds between 25 and 45 kilometers per hour are classified in the same category as mopeds.
