By contrast, the team registered its worst result in 2017, ranking 17th in the FIFA WWR.

Since 2003, the FIFA World Ranking is used to rank women's national teams, based on their game results. The source specifies that "the rating points earned by a team for a win is dependent on the strength of the opponent. A win over an extremely weak team scarcely improves their standing in the Women's World Ranking (WWR), while a win over a stronger team is awarded with a clear increase of the WWR value".
