In 2023, almost 80 percent of the reported measles cases in the European Economic Area (EEA) were among individuals who were unvaccinated, with a further seven percent of cases among those who had only received one dose of the vaccine. In 2022, a considerably lower share of cases were among unvaccinated patients, with a share of 51.2 percent.
