A survey on Malaysians and their media consumption during the COVID-19 Movement Control Order (MCO) period found that 12 percent of respondents stated that they newly subscribed to Netflix in March 2020. Netflix, followed by Malaysian video-on-demand service iFlix, and online grocers saw the highest share of new subscriptions among Malaysian respondents during the MCO period. Malaysia introduced the MCO on March 18 to slow down the spread of COVID-19. The MCO was extended for the third time till May 12.
