Monthly salary of journalists in Sweden 2014-2023, by gender
In the past years, the monthly salary of journalists and related professionals in Sweden fluctuated. In 2020, men earned over 41 thousand Swedish kronor per month. Thus, they had a higher salary than female journalists, who earned around 39 thousand Swedish kronor on average. However, while the male journalists' salaries remained the same in 2021, the salary of their female colleagues closed the cap further, reaching an amount of 40.8 thousand Swedish kronor. Yet, this gap reopened again as of 2022, as men's monthly salary grew more than the one of their female colleagues that year. In 2023, these fluctuations continued and salaries for both men and female decreased to 42.7 and 42.3 thousand Swedish kronor.
