Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Latin American and Caribbean air passenger traffic fell by around 60 percent in 2020. A year earlier, the region's number of air travelers peaked at more than 430 million, nearly 139 million more than in 2018. Domestic passengers account for the largest share of passenger traffic in Latin America and the Caribbean.
