Agriculture sector greenhouse gas emissions in Poland 1988-2022
Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the agriculture sector in Poland have fallen significantly since 1988. In that year, emissions amounted to 50,057 kt CO2 eq and by 2005 had fallen to 31,659 kt CO2 eq. The following years saw GHG emissions remain relatively stable, but by 2020 increased to 34,225 kt CO2 eq, the highest level since the turn of the century.
The agriculture sector in Poland was responsible for approximately 80 percent of all nitrous oxide emissions in the country. In 2022, the national emissions of greenhouse gases in agriculture reached 33,297 kt CO2 eq.
