Revenues of e-commerce markets in the Nordic countries 2019

The e-commerce revenue in selected Nordic countries reached roughly 831 billion Swedish kronor in total, as of 2019. Sweden was the leader in the Nordic region, reaching a revenue of 310 billion Swedish kronor that year. Denmark was second in the list and Norway and Finland followed. Iceland was not mentioned in the ranking. Which product category were Swedes spending most on? Home electronics accounted for roughly 15.6 billion Swedish kronor of the e-commerce revenue as of 2018. The second most profitable type of products purchased online in the country seemed to be clothing and footwear, accounting for a revenue of 11.6 billion Swedish kronor.

 How do Nordic citizens pay online?

   The most common payment method for all Nordic online shoppers in 2018 seemed to be by card. Over 90 percent of Danes had used this means of payment that year, whereas the corresponding figure for Finns was just under 60 percent. Apple Pay was popular among one percent of Norwegians, Swedes, Danes and Finns that year.

 E-commerce sales worldwide

   Mexico topped the ranking of countries with highest r etail e-commerce growth rate in 2019. The sales in the country increased by 35 percent that year. Mexico was followed by India, the Philippines and China. The total worldwide e-commerce retail sales increased by nearly 21 percent.
