Community Visioning Workshops
-
Starting on Feb. 29, 2020, and concluding March 12, 2020, Saint Louis Public Schools held a series of community visioning workshops to explore the past, present and projected future landscape of education options in our city. More than 650 people participated in these interactive workshops and shared their views. The workshops were led by local consulting firm Emerging Wisdom.
We had planned to bring the community back together to review the results, but the stay-at-home order prevents us from holding public meetings for the time being in order to do our part to help reduce spread of COVID-19.
However, District administration and the Board of Education of the City of St. Louis are continuing to study all of the documentation and data collected during the two months spent sharing and gathering information. We invite you to join us in that review.
The reports below detail feedback captured not only in public sessions but also smaller sessions (affinity groups), which allowed for targeted and open discussion among students, teachers, principals, parents/guardians and community partners.
While the final stages leading to a decision on consolidation have been postponed, the Board of Education and District administration wish to thank all who participated in an effort to gain a greater understanding of the challenges and opportunities before the District. We look forward to resuming this conversation when it is safe and feasible to do so. Thank you for your interest and support of SLPS!
