(1974- ) Canadian academic and author, in the UK from before 2005; in her nonfiction she specializes in the "international business", and is Professor of Business Anthropology in the University of London (see Anthropology).. She is of sf interest initially for nonfiction studies in Television series, beginning with Liberation: The Unofficial and Unauthorized Guide to Blake's 7 (2003) with Alan Stevens (see Blake's 7); the Kaldor City series of audio plays uses material from this series and from the Doctor Who universe. Management Lessons from Game of Thrones: Organization Theory and Practice in Westeros (2022) is a deadpan application of her more formal skills to George R R Martin's incomplete Game of Thrones series in its television series iteration. A similar treatment of the Star Wars (1977) prequel Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) as a series of blog posts is Project Management Lessons from Rogue One (2023 web), which won a BSFA Award as best short nonfiction.
As an author of fiction, Moore began publishing work of genre interest with "Skulduggery" (with Alan Stevens) in the Doctor Who anthology Shelf Life (anth 2008) edited by David A McIntee, Julian Eales and Adrian Middleton. Her first novel, Driving Ambition (2018), and the loosely-connected story Automotive Dreams (2020 ebook), are set in a Near Future world where human and AI interfaces have become immensely complexified, a problematic marriage here tending to be presented through Transportation issues, particularly self-driving cars. The protagonist, possessed by a Superpower enabling him to communicate through the trillionfold Internet of jostling entities, must solve various problems. [JC]
