Standing at the cross-section between art and commerce, the agents at High Line Literary Collective facilitate thriving, vibrant careers for writers, artists and creators.
From the moment we begin working with a client, we establish full-spectrum representation dedicated to each creator’s unique needs. From audience engagement, to career orientation, to strategic long-term management, our holistic guidance charts your most successful publishing journey.
Located in the heart of Manhattan just steps from the High Line, we love that our organization is named for a feat of innovative engineering and triumphant spirit. The High Line, a once-abandoned railway track turned nature park pathway in the sky spanning from 20th to 34th street, serves as a symbol of what wild dreams and big ideas can accomplish when hearts and minds align and seek to create something of distinctive beauty for all to enjoy.
We are proud to be High Line Literary Collective.
About Kim Perel:
Kim is passionate about discovering unique voices and making authors’ dreams come true. She has been privileged to represent award-winning, NYTimes best-selling authors throughout her career. She is particularly excited about leaders and artist’s whose point-of-view cuts through the noise and connects with readers in a way that translates into a new understanding about an important aspect of life. When she brings in a new client, her favorite part of the job is creating a clear publishing plan in lockstep with the author’s current team, big-picture career goals and future aspirations. Close communication and a common vision both creatively and strategically are at the core of all of Kim’s client relationships.

Kim is actively looking for large platform-driven nonfiction by authors who are well-known, renowned leaders in their fields. She represents interior design that crosses over into deep storytelling or other areas of expertise like wellness or psychology, slice-of-life memoir from personalities with a built-in audience, tasty cookbooks by badass chefs, women’s health books by mediagenic doctors and experts with strong or even contrarian messages, game-changing, “big-think” books by researchers and social psychologists, and reportage that illuminates injustice. Also, spiritual gurus, wellness books for all, conscious business and personal finance for young people, and books about adventure travel, awakening creativity, relationships, parenting and happiness.
Once in a blue moon Kim falls in love with engaging, voice-driven literary fiction which still has a strong plot (from quirky family sagas to multi-POV ensemble casts of characters), beachy reads with odd-bird protagonists, rom-coms with a twist (even a dark one) that make her laugh out loud, or commercial women-centric fiction that's impossible to put down.Send a query letter and ten pages for fiction and an overview from your proposal for nonfiction. You can query Kim at querymanager.com/kimperel
