Painted paper lanterns. Take plain white paper lantern. Acrylic paints in several colors watered down about 50%. Start dabbing here and there to create a sort of Japanese cherry blossom look. Then add dark browns for the limbs last. Very simple and not much talent required but the end result is fab.
