Description Amur leopard portrait. Panthera pardus orientalis - Amur Leopard. This photo was taken on the 19/1 - 2014. This is the old male Amur leopard and I took this photo when he was sitting on a branch. The sun decided to shine in to his enclosure and that gave me a few good shots. The Amur leopard is native to the Primorye region of southeastern Russia & northern China. It's listed as Critically Endangered on IUCN Red List, as in 2007, only 19–26 wild leopards were estimated to survive [📹Sondre Eriksen]

This is Xizi, a female Amur Leopard. Amur Leopards are a critically endangered species with as few as 50 left in the wild. Shot as part of a photography day at the wonderful Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent.
