Better remembered for his peformances in lower formulae, in both Formula Ford and Formula 3, often appearing in a Ralt RT1-BMW. Retired after finishing in Formula 2. Locher was the 1975 German Formula Ford 1600 champion, who then became a mainstay of German Formula 3 in his own car. But Formula 2, either when racing a Chevron B40-BMW for Helmut Bross, or in a March 792-Hart with the BFO Racing team, saw no points finishes and thus subsequently no real progression thereafter.
