Newman is committed to providing an exceptional education to highly motivated and high-achieving students in New Orleans."
Our emphasis on strong relationships combined with a challenging curriculum fosters growth while also providing the security that promotes intellectual risk taking. We also believe that financial need should never be an impediment to receiving the best education possible.

Malone Scholarship Program

In 2010, Newman received a $2 million endowment gift from the Malone Family Foundation to establish the Malone Scholar Program, allowing the School to recruit academically gifted and talented students with demonstrated need in grades 7 through 12 to attend Newman. This gift will perpetually fund scholarships to motivated top students based on financial need and merit.

Qualified candidates must: 
  • be a U.S. citizen;
  • be a rising 7th - 12th grader in the top 5 percent of his/her class as identified by school records, standardized test scores, or other recognized assessment methods;
  • qualify for funding of at least 30 percent of his/her tuition through the school's financial-aid qualification process;
  • show evidence of enthusiasm for and motivation toward maximizing his/her educational opportunities;
  • receive scholarship funding to extent of need exclusively from the Malone Scholarship Program.
