He's scored a £5million deal to become the Brit toast of Tinseltown – but that’s not going to be James Corden’s only income during the next year.
The 36-year-old presenter is renting out his £3million mansion in London while he lives in Los Angeles and hosts The Late, Late Show.
One loaded banker (easy...) will be forking out £15,000 a month to live in the star’s newly renovated home.
The sprawling pad is next door to Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow’s digs in a Belsize Park mansion.
James will also receive a £650,000 relocation fee from channel CBS to up sticks and move his family Stateside for his new role as a chat show presenter.
We’re told: “James might be raking in a huge sum for the new job, but he’s not daft and knows he can net a tidy sum from his home.
“It makes sense to rent the place out rather than leave it sitting empty – plus, having a lodger ensures there will be no risk of squatters.
Although it’s bad timing, as he’s just finished some extensive renovations on the place.
“James is still convinced his stint on US TV will be a disaster so he wants to keep his London home available in case he needs to make a swift return.”
James has previously said of his presenting gig in America: “It’s going to be a disaster. Why wouldn’t it be? I’m from High Wycombe.
“What are the chances of a chubby guy – and I’m being generous – going to America and hosting a talk show every night being anything other than a complete mistake?”
He’s so modest.
Still, James has moved his wife, Julia, and two children, Max, three, and three-month-old Carey, to Hollywood for the new job.
The new series kicks off with James in the hot seat in March. He’ll be replacing Scottish comedian Craig Ferguson at the helm.
And he’s already settling into the LA lifestyle – hanging out with old pal Dominic Cooper at the BAFTA tea party in Beverly Hills.
The pair lived together after starring in The History Boys.
Corden has also become close pals with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. She became a fan after seeing him star in the play One Man, Two Guvnors.
