Stardate 9522.6: USS Enterprise-A departs the Spacedock One to rendezvous with Kronos One. Captain James T. Kirk is framed for the assassination of Klingon Chancellor Gorkon. He and Dr. Leonard McCoy are given life sentences and sent to the dilithium mines of Rura Penthe but are both rescued by Captain Spock and the crew of the Enterprise-A. Tuvok graduates from Starfleet Academy and is assigned to the starship USS Excelsior, under the command of Captain Sulu. (VOY: "Flashback")
Stardate 9521.6: The Excelsior is struck by a powerful subspace shock wave caused by the destruction of the Klingon moon, Praxis. Upon discovering the cause of the disaster, Sulu immediately contacted the Klingon High Command to offer his ship's assistance. The Klingons, including an officer on Praxis, called for help, however, the transmission was cut-off when Brigadier Kerla interrupted and reported that there had been an incident on Praxis, and turned the offer for assistance down because everything is under control, requesting that Sulu obey treaty stipulations and remain outside the Neutral Zone. The Nexus; a powerful, destructive energy-ribbon and inter-dimensional portal is discovered by the Federation for the first time with the crew of the Enterprise-B.
