(1)The local authority for the purposes of the M1War Charities Act 1940 (registration authority for war charities) and the M2Poisons Act 1972 (local authority’s list of persons entitled to sell poisons) shall be a regional or islands council.
(2)The local authority for the purposes of the M3Vehicle and Driving Licences Act 1969 shall be a regional, islands or district council.
(3)For the purposes of the following enactments the local authority shall be an islands or district council—

(b)The M4Performing Animals (Regulation) Act 1925;
(c)The M5Theatrical Employers Registration Act 1925;
(d)The M6Methylated Spirits (Sale by Retail) (Scotland) Act 1937;

(f)The M8Pet Animals Act 1951;
(g)The M9Hypnotism Act 1952;
(h)The M10Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963;
(i)The M11Riding Establishments Act 1964;
(j)section 44(1) of the M12Local Government (Scotland) Act 1966 (game licences);
(k)The M13Sale of Venison (Scotland) Act 1968;
(l)The M14Theatres Act 1968.
(4)In consequence of the foregoing provisions of this section the enactments mentioned therein shall have effect subject to the modifications and amendments set out in Part III of Schedule 24 to this Act.
