2. The following provisions of the Local Electoral Administration and Registration Services (Scotland) Act 2006 come into force on 24 September 2022—
(a)section 39(3)(a) and (b) (registration of births) so far as not already in force(1),
(b)section 39(6) for the purpose of the insertion of section 16B (registration of births) of the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Scotland) Act 1965(2),
(c)section 39(1) for the purposes of that commencement of section 39(3)(a) and (b), and (6),
(d)section 42(3)(a)(i) and (ii) (registration of deaths) so far as not already in force,
(e)section 42(3)(b) so far as not already in force(3),
(f)section 42(1) for the purposes of that commencement of section 42(3)(a)(i) and (ii) and (3)(b).
Section 39(3)(b) inserts section 14(1A) of the Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages (Scotland) Act 1965 (“the 1965 Act”). Section 14(1A)(b) of that Act is immediately substituted with effect from 24 September 2022 by section 25(2)(b) of the Coronavirus (Recovery and Reform) (Scotland) Act 2022 (asp 8) (“the 2022 Act”).
Section 42(3)(b) inserts section 23(1A) of the 1965 Act. Section 23(1A)(b) of that Act is immediately substituted with effect from 24 September 2022 by section 27(2)(a) of the 2022 Act.
