According to Variety in Nov. 2023, the series has officially been canceled by ABC.
LA Clear refers to the Los Angeles Regional Criminal Information Clearinghouse. It serves two functions
- Event and Case Deconfliction - ascertain whether a subject of an investigation is being targeted by other law enforcement agency. If it exists the agencies are put in contact with each other.
- Intelligence - Gang and Drug Trafficking Activity.
Kevin Zegers plays a former actor who starred in "Vampire Cop". A show which closely fits that criteria would be Forever Knight (1992), a Vampire who becomes a detective in a major metropolitan city in order to seek redemption for his past misdeeds. Moreover, the original pilot was shot in Los Angeles, Nick Knight (1989) ,before it was moved to Toronto, and it starred Rock Singer Rick Springfield (of "Jessie's Girl" fame). Also, the pilot went by the name "Midnight Cop" and "Twilight Vampire Cop" in the French and German markets respectively.

- Courtney Ford (Wife of Brandon Routh) - Tracy Chiles (The Rookie: Feds (2022)). She was also in DC's Legends of Tomorrow (2016).
- David Ramsey - Greg Wright (The Rookie: Feds (2022)). He was also in Arrow (2012), DC's Legends of Tomorrow (2016), and The Flash (2014)
