Scuttle : It's hard to say.
[Place's his ear to Eric's foot]

Grimsby : [Calling Out] Eric? Eric!
[the approaching Grimsby and Max's barking send a startled Ariel back into the ocean]
Grimsby : [Helping Eric to his feet] You really delight in these sadistic strains on my blood pressure, don't you?
Prince Eric : A girl rescued me. She... She was singing. She had the most beaufiful voice.
Grimsby : Eric, I think you've swallowed a bit too much seawater. Off we go. Come along, Max.
Sebastian : [after watching the unfolding events] We just gonna forget this whole thing ever happened. The sea king will never know. You won't tell him.
Flounder : [Nods in agreement]
Sebastian : I won't tell him. I will stay in one piece.
[Ariel has possitioned herself on top of a rock watching Eric longingly]
Ariel : [sung] I don't know when/ I don't know how/ But I know something's starting right now/ Watch and you'll see/ Someday I'll be/ Part of your world

Triton : I just don't know what we're going to do with you, young lady.
Ariel : Daddy, I'm sorry, I just forgot.
Triton : As a result of your careless behavior...
Sebastian : Careless and reckless behavior!
Triton : ...the entire celebration was...
Sebastian : Well, it was ruined! That's all! Completely destroyed! This concert was to be the pinnacle of my distinguished career. Now thanks to you, I am the laughingstock of the entire kingdom!
Flounder : But it wasn't her fault. First, the shark chased us. Yeah, yeah. And we tried to... But we couldn't, and he
[grr]
Flounder : And... And we... whoa! And then we were safe. But then this seagull came, and it was "This is this, and that is that, and..."
Triton : Seagull?
[Flounder gasps and hides in Ariel's hair as she gives him a dirty look]
Triton : What? You went up to the surface again, didn't you? Didn't you?
Ariel : Nothing happened.
Triton : Ariel, how many times must we go through this? You could've been seen by one of those barbarians, by by one of those humans!
Ariel : Daddy, they're not barbarians.
Triton : They are dangerous. Do you think I would want to see my youngest daughter snared by some fish-eater's hook?
Ariel : I'm 16 years old. I'm not a child any more.
Triton : Don't you take that tone of voice with me, young lady! As long as you live under my ocean, you'll obey my rules!
Ariel : But if you would just listen...
Triton : Not another word! And I am never, never to hear of you going to the surface again! Is that clear?
[Ariel leaves, crying]

Scuttle : Now, the snarfblatt dates back to prehistorical times when humans would sit around and stare at each other all day.
[long pause]
Scuttle : Got very boring. So, they invented this snarfblatt to make fine music. Allow me.
[Attempts to blow the pipe and seaweed crops out of it]
Ariel : [realizing] Music!
Scuttle : It's stuck!
[coughs and gags]
Ariel : The concert! Oh my gosh! My father's gonna kill me!
Flounder : [gasps] The concert was today?

Scuttle : Well, look at what the catfish dragged in.
[laughs]
Scuttle : Look at ya. Look at ya. There's something different. Don't tell me. I got it. It's your hairdo, right? You've been usin' the dinglehopper, right?
[Ariel shakes her head]
Scuttle : No? No, huh? Well, let me see. New seashells? No new seashells. I gotta admit I can't put my foot on it right now. But if I just stand here long enough...
Sebastian : She's got legs, you idiot! She traded her voice to the sea witch and got legs. Geez, man!
Scuttle : I knew that.
Flounder : Ariel's been turned into a human. She's gotta make the prince fall in love with her, and he's gotta kiss her.
Sebastian : And she's only got three days!

Flounder : Shark! Shark! We're gonna die!

Triton : [workprint only] Well, it's not just me you disappointed, young lady! What about your sisters, and what about Sebastian? What about everyone who came to hear you sing?
Ariel : I said I was sorry, Daddy.
Triton : Oh, it would be different is this were the first time.
Flounder : But sir, it wasn't her fault. This shark chased us, and then this seagull just wouldn't shut up!
[covers his mouth, as he has accidentally ratted out Ariel]
Triton : Seagull?
[Flounder hides in Ariel's hair as she gives him a dirty look]
Triton : What? You went up to the surface again, didn't you? Didn't you?
Ariel : Daddy, when you were younger, didn't you...
Triton : How many times have I warned you? The surface is dangerous! You could've been seen by a human!
Ariel : I was careful!
Triton : Those barbarians are everywhere! Do you think I would want to see my youngest daughter snared by some fish-eater's hook?
Ariel : But Daddy, the problem is...
Triton : I'll tell you what the problem is, young lady! The problem is, I have six daughters who showed a responsibility, who make me proud to be their father, and then... I have you!
[they pause]
Triton : I never want to hear of you going to the surface again! Is that clear?
[Ariel leaves, scowling]
Triton : Oh, am I wrong, Sebastian? Do you think I'm being to hard on her?
Sebastian : Oh, Your Majesty, Ariel is still very young.
Triton : From now on, Ariel is your responsibility. I want you to watch over her and keep her out of trouble.
Sebastian : But, Your Majesty, I am an artist, not a nursemaid!
[Triton glares at him, and he resigns]
Sebastian : Yes, Your Majesty.
