- Wrestled briefly under the name David Finley.
- Son of Jim Crockett Sr. and brother to Jim Crockett Jr.. They ran Jim Crockett Promotions and Mid-Atlantic Wrestling. These would eventually become World Championship Wrestling (WCW) which was purchased by Ted Turner.
- He was on the plane in October of 1975 that nearly killed Ric Flair and greatly injured Johnny Valentine. While he did suffer the effects of the crash for six months afterward, he suffered less impact due to the fact that his chair did not break loose.
