- My girlfriend and I never let each other forget how much we love each other. It's all about reminding the other person how important and special she is to you.
- For me, as an actor, one of the biggest fears on a TV show is getting stuck in something where you end up feeling like you're doing the same thing, every single year.
- I played baseball my entire life, up through college and everything, so working out and being physically active was always a huge part of my life. I'll spend at least a couple of hours in the gym a day.
- I love going to movies by myself.
- If I'm in the gym I'll stay for a while, and I'm not usually in a hurry to leave.
- I'm a mama's boy.
- [on his portrayal of Superman on Supergirl (2015)] I never try to compare and contrast performances because it's such an iconic character already. Superman is Superman so I'm just going to try to carry on the tradition of that and play that part.
- [on suiting up as Superman for Supergirl (2015)] The first couple of times it definitely took longer to get into. I started to think that Superman's greatest power was actually being able to just jump into [the suit] as quickly as he does, because it's not quite as smooth the first couple of times you do it.
- Someone asked me, "Why do we need Superman now?" Well, he does stand for hope. And hope is not something that once we get it, we got it, we're good and it's done. It's a constant. It needs to be refilled. New things happen all the time, and we've got to be able to look forward and have a hopeful outlook for the future. Otherwise, what are we doing?
- [on David Corenswet] He actually did send me a really nice letter as we were wrapping up Superman & Lois (2021). So that was really really lovely of him to do. I wish him the best [as Superman (2025)], and I have no doubt they're going to be great.
- [on portraying Superman] I always say that it's not the role that I ever envisioned myself playing, but I think that's maybe why I'm able to play it the way that I have been. [...] I grew up with the idea of playing Batman, and I think if I was playing Batman, I'd be very aware that I was playing Batman. So it almost helps in the sense that, for whatever reason, this wasn't in the forefront of my mind, and it's made it easier to take on the role.
