International Journal of Transport Development and Integration
International Journal of Transport Development and Integration (IJTDI) is an international, scholarly and peer-reviewed journal dedicated to providing scientists, engineers and technicians with the latest developments on all transportation modes and the general topic of transport systems, with particular emphasis on their integration and harmonisation. The continuous requirements for better transportation systems and the need for a healthier environment are topics covered by this Journal. The Journal addresses the areas of urban and road transportation, maritime and fluvial transport, rail and aviation, and topics related to logistics, optimisation and complex systems, amongst others. The growing need for integration is partly to respond to the many advances that are taking place in transportation and in order to achieve better uses of all systems, with the subsequent gains in energy efficiency. There is also the need for integration of transportation with telecommunications systems and IT in order to improve safety, security and efficiency. The Journal aims to report on advanced railways transport modes, including passenger, freight and transit systems. It welcomes contributions in the field of marine and fluvial transport, taking into consideration the substantial growth in marine shipping and cruise ships all over the world. Fluvial, canal and lake transportation are now becoming new areas of interest after a long period of decline. The Journal also covers papers resulting from the rapid growth in air freight and passenger transportation, together with the need to develop the required airport facilities. The site of new airports, in particular, involves taking into consideration environmental, ecological, social and economic factors. Transportation is one of the largest consumers of energy, particularly hydrocarbons, and has a considerable share of the economics of governments, industry and households. All major transportation links, including railway stations, airports, ports and freight terminals, can be powerful driving forces behind the development of a region and conversely they can result in major problems if they are wrongly sited and not properly integrated into the general transportation system of the area. As the world continues to develop towards a global economy, the importance of transportation grows and consequently the need to find new solutions. The variety of topics covered by the Journal reflects the complex interaction of transportation systems and the environment, and the need to establish integrated strategies. The aim is to arrive at optimal socio-economic solutions while reducing the negative environmental impact of current transportation systems.

International Journal of Environmental Impacts
International Journal of Environmental Impacts (IJEI) is an international, scholarly and peer-reviewed journal dedicated to discuss the numerous environmental problems present in modern society and their impacts, taking into account scientific, economic and social issues. One important consideration is the way in which they affect the search for sustainability. The Journal encourages interdisciplinary communication on all issues related to environmental impacts. There is a need to bridge the gap between the broad spectrum of economic and socio-political disciplines and specialists in engineering and physical, biological, environmental and health sciences, amongst others. The publication discusses whether some forms of development are compatible with environmental protection, particularly in cases of possible serious contamination and toxicity. The management of air, water and soil contamination is one of the most challenging issues facing the international community. Waste Management is one of the key problems of modern society due to the ever-expanding volume and complexity of discarded domestic and industrial products. A major cause of concern is the impact of waste on health and the environment. Contributions related to case studies allow learning from past failures, to avoid repeating similar mistakes, while attempting to prevent emerging threats to environmental and ecological systems. The Journal provides a platform for researchers and professionals involved in Environmental Impact to exchange knowledge and gain an insight into the state of the art in the current technologies, methodologies and solutions in environmental impact management as they are being developed and applied in different regions around the world. Authors include a wide variety of stakeholders from research and academia, to professionals in the industry, as well as government organisations. The IJEI is an open access journal. All contents are available for free, that is, users are entitled to read, download, duplicate, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without prior consent from the publisher or the author.

International Journal of Computational Methods and Experimental Measurements
International Journal of Computational Methods and Experimental Measurements (IJCMEM) provides the scientific community with a forum to present the interaction between the complementary aspects of computational methods and experimental measurements, and to stress the importance of their harmonious development and integration.
The steady progress in the efficiency of computers and software has resulted in the continuous development of computer simulation, which has influenced all scientific and engineering activities. As these simulations expand and improve, the need to validate them grows and this can only be successfully achieved by performing dedicated experimental tests. Furthermore, because of their continual development, experimental techniques are becoming so complex and sophisticated that they need to be controlled by computers, with the data obtained processed by means of computational methods.
The aim of the Journal is to review the latest work in computational methods and experimental measurements, with a view to achieving harmonious development and interaction between the two.

International Journal of Sustainable Development and Planning
International Journal of Sustainable Development and Planning (IJSDP) is an interdisciplinary journal covering the subjects of environmental design and planning, environmental management, spatial planning, environmental planning, environmental management and sustainable development in an integrated way as well as in accordance with the principles of sustainability. At the beginning of the 21st century, despite major scientific and technological accomplishments, the struggle for a cleaner environment as well as for the rational organization of space is not settled. It is clear to us that environmentalists, planners, policy makers, engineers and economists have to work together in order to ensure that environmental protection, spatial co-ordination and economic development could all be achieved without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own requirements. In recent years, an increase in spatial and environmental problems in many countries has led to a crisis in environmental planning and management. The increasing urbanization of the world coupled with the issues of environmental pollution, resource shortages and economic restructuring demand that a lot of effort will be required in order to make our cities sustainable. Moreover, problems of sustainable planning and management are not restricted to urban areas, since rural areas face serious environmental challenges. The aim of the International Journal of Sustainable Development and Planning is to inform its readers about all aspects of environmental planning and management. The journal includes subjects ranging from social to technical environmental management issues, having always as an axis the concept of sustainable planning and development.
