Who needs Mad Men?
The Killing, AMC’s critically acclaimed drama, premiered strong Sunday, drawing 2.7 million viewers and a 2 household rating for its two-hour bow. By comparison, Mad Men averages 2.3 million viewers.
Counting the pair of encore showings airing immediately afterward, the Mireille Enos, Michelle Forbes and Billy Campbell starrer collected 4.6 million total viewers and a 3.7 household rating.
The murder-mystery becomes AMC’s second-highest original series premiere following The Walking Dead, which opened to 5.3 million viewers on Halloween last year.
Reviews for the drama, based on the Danish series Forbrydelsen, have been strong.
