*Transferring of memorials: the majority of memorials I manage are that of my family, however, if you are a closer relative than I, please send me a message. I am happy to transfer your loved one's memorial to you. Please do not steal/hold on to family memorials that have been requested that do not belong to you. Yes, we're all related if you go far enough back, but holding on to memorials of people who are have died in the last 100 years & have close relatives want them transferred is wrong. Those of us who manage family memorials are more likely to take care in doing it. We shouldn't have to wait on you to update them just because you manage thousands of memorials.*
About me:
I have always loved & been fascinated by cemeteries/grave yards. I'm always curious about the stories of those who came before. I am a writer by profession and I've become interested in researching and writing bios for many of the memorials I create - even if they're not known to me. Most of these are quite old, but if you find one that is your family member & you'd like to manage it or have me change something, absolutely send a message!
I've become more interested in genealogy in recent years & many of the memorials I manage are those of my family or friends. If you are doing genealogy, especially for Greek immigrants, anyone in Greek shipping who immigrated in the fairly recent past (the last 50-100 years) and believe we share a common ancestor, please message me if you have specific questions rather than posting photos related to census, death index, etc. There are several mistakes I've found in terms of dates of birth or death and so please understand that I've gone by family papers, as well as research to come up with the birth years for certain people. I am always happy to share research and I have a lot of photos and other papers I've uploaded to other sites. Just send a message if you'd like my help or if you believe you're related and want to view a family tree on Ancestry. Common names in my research are: Georgilis/Georgelis, Moustak/is/as, Poniros, Tsirlis, Kariotis, Tsangaris, Livanos, Katsimpiris.
*A note about management of records:*
If you volunteer on this website and decide you no longer want to maintain the records please transfer your records to someone who has an active account and willing to take over the records. I am one of many willing to take over records. This really will help reduce duplicates. It would also be a good idea to leave someone instructions on how to make these transfers should you go inactive without warning.
Thank You!
