I will gladly transfer within the guidelines and am more than happy to make corrections and additions to those memorials which fall outside of the guidelines. If memorials I've transferred are stripped of the obit or photos, I won't transfer anymore to that person. I do not transfer "all" of any name. Please use virtual cemeteries for the purpose of collecting "all" your relatives.

I include the newspaper or funeral home when mentioned for future relatives who are trying to build their family trees. Even though other FAG members feel it is an easy way to "beat me" to the obituary. Shame on you. If you don't have the time to enter more than the date born and the date they died, maybe you need a new hobby. Every persons life should be remembered for more than just a couple dates.
A name with "unk" "unk" for the dates is no memorial at all. My purpose is a full and complete memorial.
So often I see-"my photos are not to be used on paid sites like ancestry.com". FAG is owned by Ancestry.com and has been for several years now. This is what FAG says--Find A Grave is owned and supported by Ancestry. Our Terms of Service state that when you upload content to Find A Grave, you grant Find A Grave and its group companies the right to reuse that content on other sites in the group, including ancestry.com. Ancestry users may include information found on Find A Grave in their trees on Ancestry sites and Ancestry may show information and images from Find A Grave in their search or other areas of the site. This expands the reach of the information collected on Find A Grave and helps other members of the Ancestry Community who are researching their ancestors.
And as for duplicates--"Because so many people add data to Find A Grave, there are often duplicate cemeteries and duplicate memorials added. This is a very common situation and is quite difficult to resolve in a way that keeps everyone happy. Before adding a memorial, search the cemetery to see if a record with that name has already been added. If you are adding a memorial for someone who has recently passed or who does not have a physical grave or memorial marker in a cemetery (perhaps their ashes were scattered), please do a general search on Find A Grave (do not enter a location) to see if a memorial has already been created for that person. If you find a memorial has been added but has incomplete or incorrect information, instead of creating a duplicate memorial use the tools provided to submit corrections, additions or a transfer request via the "Suggest A Correction" link under the 'Edit' tab on the upper right of the memorial. Never deliberately create a duplicate memorial". To me this means, send an edit, do not just make a duplicate. FAG has enough unintentional duplicates! When a woman has been married more than once--I use the name in the obituary, if a headstone isn't available from a previous marriage with her name on it. I don't "presume" she'll be buried with the first husband, as maybe the 2nd or 3rd marriage is who she preferred to be buried next to. I don't have ESP to know this.
I have been entering the same newspapers and funeral home obituaries for over 9 years and often someone decides to take over one or more. Usually they move on in a few weeks or months but then you have gaps where no one is entering that funeral home. There are lots of funeral homes how about doing one or more that no one else is entering? Especially the ones in small towns that may not keep their obits on line for more than a few months.
When asking for a transfer you need to include the person's name, memorial number and your relationship. I spend several hours a day entering and researching the memorials I make and I don't have the time to search for the the relative you want transferred. Rude demanding people will be ignored. This is a hobby and if nasty people take away the pleasure I'll find a new hobby to enjoy.
