Bio

I live in Newton, Iowa and will be happy to locate and photograph markers in my area.

I retired from the Air Force August 1 2009 after 26 years of service as a Master Sergeant. I am also a member of the Rapid City, South Dakota Masonic Lodge #25 and the NAJA Shriners.

Photography is my hobby/passion. I will try to fulfill as many requests as possible with quality photos. I enhance all photos to provide the best quality I can.

I trim grass covering markers and sweep off debris to enable a clear view of the marker. I photograph the entire marker as well as a close up of the name inscription. Past experience I have learned people like to see the entire marker and not just a close up of the inscription. I also photograph the back of the marker if there is any inscription on the back.

I NEVER rub chalk or other substances on markers. Chalk will DAMAGE a marker and speed the deterioration of the stone. I use a foil technique that uses aluminum foil to enhance the inscription. This technique does not damage markers and actually works better than chalk.

I can e-mail the full size photos upon request.

I recently became a member of the Jasper County, Iowa Cemetery Commission.

I am interested in my family genealogy surnames of Bickle, Baker, Hoy, Kintz, Plumb, Rinard, Bladwin and several others.

I have entered memorial pages for all
