Not only great animation, but, most importantly, a refreshing, funny story, which I liked more than the overrated Shrek. It's worth watching in the original, if only for Woody Allen and Sly Stallone. I also loved the many funny references to film classics. ()
After sixteen years, I returned to my childhood and rewatched this movie, of which I only had a few fragments in my head from the times when my dad and I watched it on VHS tapes. I have to say that this is a really great animated movie. Even after all these years, I laughed and it didn't even seem childish to me, and finally, I suppressed my dislike for ants a little bit and in the end, the movie even elicited some emotions in me. But mainly, it's just fun. ()
Made in the same year as A Bug's Life, but a few notches better. At least as far as I’m concerned. The bugs have the correct number of legs, the film has a much better story and Woody Allen has perfectly transferred his neurotic personality onto the main character. Unlike A Bug’s Life, which felt hasty and half-baked, Antz seemed more compact and professional, which is obvious given the cast. ()
