Segan was born in Brooklyn, New York and spent much of his youth traveling, educating himself in the disciplines of photography, music and acting. The later has led to myriad roles, garnering him a unique and respectable resume amongst independent filmmakers and fans. With Looper, Segan reunites with filmmaker Rian Johnson and star Joseph Gordon-Levitt, with whom he worked on his first film, Brick.
