Lost in Space is definitely an impressive piece of work - I have nothing to criticize it for in terms of audiovisual quality, and nothing to criticize it for in terms of acting either... Perhaps it could have been more engaging and less soporific (I was able to watch the entire film on about the fourth attempt). In the end I was glad that (almost) everything fell into place and the confusion that the plot had turned into during the past hour finally settled down. The main idea is a good one (concerning the original title of the film) and I agree with it. All these comparisons to Kubrick are actually terribly unfair... But what can you do when the creators are so blatantly asking for them, right? Three and a half. ()
Claustrophobia might just be the movie’s main feature. So, it’s good that it’s not that long. It reminded me of a similar movie Moon a little bit; by its atmosphere, the background music, the story flow. This was a very interesting, original small-scale movie that was – in my opinion – executed as well as possible. ()
Pure emotion. If you’re craving sci-fi action, better go elsewhere. If you’re looking for a ninety-minute video clip piece of eye candy, forget about it... As others have correctly pointed out, Love is an emotional-philosophical-meditative film in the style of Kubrick or Malick (and maybe Tarkovskij’s Stalker), or, rather, an attempt at something like that. Despite all its technical and atmospheric competence, the film feels a little “unfinished”, but I still rate it very positively. The climax (very obviously inspired by 2001) gave me the legendary chills – though, it should be said, mostly thanks to the A&A music. ()
