Season 1: It's hard to say that it really caught my attention. However, it definitely has style, and you can't deny the Poles their talent. I expected the story to twist somewhere or reveal something that hasn't been talked about before. A few times I even had a feeling that we might experience some mystique. Unfortunately, neither of these came close to the truth, so I felt like it was missing that cherry on top. It's not a typical crime series and is really taken more from a journalistic perspective, but the characters are well-written, the episodes fly by, and you probably won't regret giving it a watch. However, lately I've been looking for something more demanding in terms of smaller series, so it's hard to say whether I'll watch the second season. ()
Poland is once more reaching for the European quality and presents a 5 episode long miniseries remarkable by its 80’s atmosphere, acting performances at a high level, where you have to root for two detectives even though there is nothing remarkable about them and added to it all is a murder which is entwined with political intrigues which then open the door to the unknown past of local Polish politicians. For me, it was a great experience. ()
This series won me over from the very start by how excellently it captured the atmosphere of my childhood. Otherwise, after the first two episodes, I was having doubts because the theme was appealing but the story seemed a little bland and slow-paced. Fortunately, the third episode brought a change, the story picked up momentum and the following two episodes convinced me of a high quality. If you are on the fence after the first two episodes, hang in there, the following three episodes are definitely worth it. ()
With Enšpígl, we always agree that our favorite Poles know how to make great movies and series. Bażina will be included in an infinitely long series of top-notch film/TV creations. A small town in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship hiding ancient and eerie secrets, underlined by a dark forest where a double murder occurs. Both journalists are more than likable and when the viewer empathizes with them, it cannot be good for their heart. The musical element was also incredibly successful for the creators. ()
