Anthony Mackie and Frank Grillo in another mediocre action flick about corruption in the police. It's generically mediocre, it's a bit silly and very straightforward, but, unlike other genre flicks, it didn't bore me, even entertained me at times, and I didn't feel a compulsive need to turn it off. I just feel a sense of wasted time because Frank Grillo is a favourite of mine and a damn charismatic and likeable actor and it's a shame to drown in pointless action B-movies instead of finally getting to shine in an A-list Hollywood flick. Hopefully I'll get to see it one day... ()
A totally common buddy comedy the good point of which arethe two main characters, who are quite witty. But due to my lack of any previous relationship to them, it is just and only a quite good chill-out time. Nothing more, nothing less. ()
I thought I would hate this Netflix debut completely, but it turned out better than I expected. Wheelman was a bit better, however combining Frank Grillo with another favorite of this streaming giant - Anthony Mackie proved to be a cool move, and an undemanding viewer will enjoy this short, yet interchangeable thriller quite a bit. And this duo is undoubtedly the biggest asset of the film. PS: Point Blank has absolutely tasteless and unsuitable music. 6/10 ()
Based on the title, it looks like it's ripping off Lee Marvin, but no, it's ripping off Fred Cavayé in a rather uninteresting way. The forced alliance between an unexpectedly spry criminal with a severe brain concussion, a stomach wound, and two broken ribs and his morphine fairy, who can only hope to knock out bad cops to death with a syringe, but circumstances force her into a struggle, lacks the necessary drive. Joe Lynch did as poor a job as plastic surgeon Madam Harden and evidently found his Limit. I’ll give one extra star for the taste of the amateur gangster rice, who educates the members of his organization with Sorcerer at the expense of Scarface. Maybe the light tone would have suited the entire film. ()
