Those familiar with Jim Wynorski's films of recent years, or at least have had a glance at his filmography, can't be surprised and would certainly save themselves the time. And just because it's Wynorski, you can expect cheap B- or even C-level entertainment with the crappy visual effects and equally crappy acting that kind of goes with it. The beautiful setting is a big plus, plus the camera occasionally stops on a rain-forest, a chameleon, a crab or a real piranha. The mutant anacondas look cheap, of course, but not quite as they tend to in films like this. It is a pity that we see mostly blood clouds as they devour their victims, and there are not a few of them. Apart from a bitten leg at the beginning, however, the second more action-packed part does involve tearing up the victims. The girls are pretty, but when bathing they are not only wearing bathing suits, but even shorts. Nope, the full nudity of the 1980s is history. Still, I give it a nice 2*, even though I was more amused by Wynorski at other times, because I wasn't bored, I laughed occasionally and for the aforementioned setting.
