Biography
Robert William Young is a British film and television director. He started his directorial career in the early 1970s, and established himself as a leading director of British television-drama in the 1980s and early 1990s, moving more towards black comedy at the beginning of the '90s.
Amongst his work are popular crime, drama and comedy series' such as The Mad Death (1983), Robin of Sherwood (1984-1986), Bergerac (1981-1991) and Jeeves and Wooster (1990-1993), in addition to numerous television-movies and feature films. Young has had several projects with the former Monty Python members John Cleese, Eric Idle and Michael Palin, and among other things directed the 1997 follow-up to A Fish Called Wanda (1988); Fierce Creatures (co-directing with Fred Schepisi).
