Steven Lessey is a writer and screenwriter specializing in horror – brutal, bloody and brainy – but he has no time for his wife Elizabeth or his three children while he writes, and disaster is at hand. Steven is overwhelmed with work, Elizabeth is desperate and the kids decide to be inspired by one of their dad's stories... Scenes from his films intersperse this drama of a writer sinking deeper and deeper into the pit of hell. The shower is definitely not inspired by Psycho, screwdrivers and knives toy with the repairman and crazy nuns take the priest's words literally. There's more to come, including a cocaine orgy. Personally, I liked the punk concert, as these 80s horror films tend to feature more disco or hard rock. Very nice cinematography. Just have to remember that it's weird Canada at its core, so it's not for everyone. Just seemingly chaotic in about the same way life is sometimes. ()
