Willie Sutton robbed banks during the Depression because, he explained, "That's where the money is." Former Indiana farmboy John Dillinger also knew where the money was. And his string of early-1930s heists, murders and daring jailbreaks were so bold and notorious he became Public Enemy #1. (Verleiher-Text)

It's not a particularly remarkable film; it doesn't stand out much in how the character of Dillinger is portrayed, but it's not shot poorly either, and it's watchable. It's somewhat straightforward, but the black-and-white camera work in this case does its job and has the right effect on the viewer. It feels more like a film noir. ()
