Meesseman crowned TISSOT MVP to lead All-Star Five

A huge favorite with the Belgian fans, she showed her class by delivering in a big way for her team, helping them bounce back from an opening night loss to Canada with wins against Japan and Sweden. She poured in 20.3 points per game, made some important plays down the stretch of both victories and also corralled 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists.
Teammate Julie Allemand lined up alongside her in the All-Star Five having led Belgium from the playmaking spot. The guard served up a fine 5.3 assists per game, along with an average of 10.0 points across the three games.
Ramu Tokashiki of Japan showed her brilliance and why she was one of the leading scorers in Rio at the 2016 Olympic Games. The powerhouse was solid throughout and on opening night posted one of the best displays of the competition. Overall, she amassed 12.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
Also from Japan, Saki Hayashi was rewarded for her mesmerizing three-point shooting in a classic and entertaining matchup with Japan when she knocked down eight shots from long-range. She ended up averaging 15.0 points in the tournament.
There was also a spot for Natalie Achonwa who shot the lights out to make sure that Canada topped the group and went unbeaten in Ostend. She caught fire and shot a brilliant 74 percent to finish with 13.3 points per game, as well as 6.3 boards.
