This annual survey explores what national security means to New Zealanders, which threats and hazards they consider likely, and how we can better share information and engage with them on national security. Through the survey we heard from 2,370 people living in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The survey makes comparisons with results from a global survey using similar question wording and definitions, and by including a broad range of risk and challenges.
The findings from the survey support government’s work across the national security sector and help develop our understanding of people’s awareness and attitudes towards national security issues over time.
